What is CVE-2025-1623?

The GDPR Cookie Compliance plugin for WordPress prior to version 4.15.9 has a security issue where it fails to properly sanitize and escape certain settings. This flaw can be exploited by high privilege users, like administrators, to execute stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks even if the unfiltered_html capability is restricted, such as in a multisite configuration. Such vulnerabilities can lead to significant security threats, making it critical for website owners to update to a secure version.
