What is CVE-2025-3292?
The User Registration & Membership plugin for WordPress is susceptible to an Insecure Direct Object Reference, allowing unauthenticated users to exploit weaknesses in the user_registration_update_profile_details() function. Attackers can manipulate the user-controlled 'user_id' key to gain unauthorized access, potentially leading to the ability to change passwords of other users provided they possess the corresponding user ID and email. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to user accounts and data security, emphasizing the critical need for appropriate input validation mechanisms.
