What is CVE-2025-3438?

The MStore API plugin for WordPress is susceptible to privilege escalation due to insufficient restrictions on user role assignments during registration. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to register as 'wcfm_vendor', granting them unintended access within the WCFM Marketplace – Multivendor Marketplace for WooCommerce environment. The security flaw affects all versions up to and including 4.17.4, with a partial patch introduced in version 4.17.3, which requires careful implementation to fully mitigate the risks associated with unauthorized access.
