What is CVE-2025-4217?

The WP YouTube Video Optimizer plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes through the 'ib_youtube' shortcode. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever another user accesses any compromised page, posing a significant threat to user security and data integrity.
