What is CVE-2025-5538?
The BNS Featured Category plugin for WordPress has a vulnerability that allows authenticated users with contributor-level access or higher to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. This issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the 'bnsfc' shortcode. Attackers can inject malicious scripts into pages, which are executed when a user visits an affected page, posing significant risks to user data and site integrity.
