What is CVE-2025-5564?
The GC Social Wall plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows for Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the 'gc_social_wall' shortcode. This flaw arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary web scripts into the pages. As a result, any user accessing such altered pages may unwittingly execute the malicious code, which poses serious security risks to website integrity and user data.
