What is CVE-2025-5929?
The Countdown plugin for WordPress has a vulnerability that allows authenticated users with Contributor-level access and above to exploit the 'clientId' parameter. Due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, attackers can inject arbitrary web scripts. This results in malicious scripts executing whenever a user accesses the compromised pages, potentially leading to harmful actions on behalf of the user. Website administrators are urged to update their Countdown plugin to the latest version to mitigate this vulnerability.
