Stored Cross-Site Scripting in Smart Docs Plugin for WordPress
CVE-2025-6787
5.4MEDIUM
What is CVE-2025-6787?
The Smart Docs plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability that affects all versions up to 1.1.0. This issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'smartdocs_search' shortcode. Authenticated attackers with at least contributor-level access can exploit this flaw to inject arbitrary JavaScript code into pages. The injected scripts will run whenever a user visits the infected page, potentially leading to data theft and account compromise.
