What is CVE-2025-8623?

The WeedMaps Menu plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to exploit the plugin's weedmaps_menu shortcode. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping for user-supplied attributes enable the injection of arbitrary web scripts into pages. Consequently, these scripts execute whenever an affected page is accessed, potentially compromising user sessions and leading to further attacks.
