What is CVE-2025-8719?

The gTranslate Shortcode plugin for WordPress exhibits a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping via the 'base_lang' parameter. This issue affects all versions up to and including 1.0, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. These scripts execute whenever an unsuspecting user accesses the compromised pages, potentially leading to harmful scenarios, such as data theft or session hijacking.
