What is CVE-2025-8778?

The NitroPack plugin for WordPress is susceptible to an unauthorized data modification vulnerability due to a lack of proper capability checks in the nitropack_set_compression_ajax() function. This flaw affects all versions up to and including 1.18.4, allowing authenticated users with Subscriber-level access or higher to alter the nitropack-enableCompression option. Consequently, this could lead to unauthorized changes in the plugin's compression settings, posing a significant risk to website performance and security.
