What is CVE-2025-8902?

The Widget Options - Extended plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'do_sidebar' shortcode. This vulnerability arises from a lack of adequate input sanitization and output escaping for user-supplied attributes. As a result, this flaw allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious web scripts into pages, which will execute whenever a user accesses the affected page. It poses a serious risk as it can compromise user data and site integrity.
