What is CVE-2025-8944?
The OceanWP WordPress theme prior to version 4.1.2 contains a security flaw allowing any authenticated user to perform unauthorized updates on the darkMode setting through a lacking capability check in its AJAX request handler. This vulnerability exposes the theme to potential configuration changes by users with lower privileges, which may lead to unintended modifications in site behavior.
