What is CVE-2025-9061?

The Wilmer Core plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows for stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks through the use of shortcodes. This issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and insufficient output escaping on attributes supplied by users. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level or higher permissions can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary web scripts into web pages. Consequently, when other users access these compromised pages, the injected scripts will execute, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or data theft.
