5.4MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-104001?

The Slim SEO Plugin for WordPress is susceptible to arbitrary shortcode execution, affecting all versions up to 4.11.1. This vulnerability arises from inadequate validation of user input when processing shortcodes. Authenticated attackers with at least subscriber-level access can exploit this vulnerability by inserting malicious shortcode payloads into their Biographical Info field, which subsequently executes on the front end when their author description is requested. This significantly compromises the security of WordPress sites using this plugin, allowing unauthorized script execution through seemingly benign actions.
