What is CVE-2026-105894?

The Ak Framework plugin, part of the Newsy WordPress theme, has a vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to exploit missing capability checks. This issue arises in the ajax_refresh_nonce and ak_admin_ajax handlers, which fail to properly validate user permissions before processing attacker-controlled option names and values. As a result, attackers can manipulate key WordPress settings, such as enabling user registration with the default role set to administrator, effectively escalating their privileges and compromising site security.
