What is CVE-2026-110505?
A vulnerability exists in the SVG, WebP, and ICO Upload plugin for WordPress versions prior to 1.1.6, where the plugin fails to adequately sanitize SVG files. This oversight allows users with author permissions and higher to exploit animation elements in SVG files to change the link's target to a 'javascript:' URI. As a result, this could lead to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks, which may execute malicious scripts in WebKit-based browsers such as Safari, posing a significant security threat to sites using the affected plugin.
Affected Version(s)
Enable SVG, WebP, and ICO Upload 0 < 1.1.6
Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
