What is CVE-2026-110808?

The Essential Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress prior to version 6.8.8 fails to enforce proper restrictions on user roles during account creation. Authenticated users with Author-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability, enabling them to grant elevated roles like Editor to new accounts, even those created via the public registration form by unauthenticated visitors. This issue stems from an incomplete fix of a related CVE, where role-validation measures introduced in version 6.6.0 can still be bypassed by lower-privileged users, leaving versions 6.6.0 through 6.8.7 vulnerable.

Affected Version(s)

Essential Addons for Elementor 6.6.0 < 6.8.8

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
