What is CVE-2026-115223?
The Smart Popup by Supsystic plugin for WordPress before version 2.0.2 is vulnerable to template injection due to improper handling of template delimiters. An authenticated administrator can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary template expressions into a popup text block. These injected payloads can subsequently be evaluated by the plugin’s template engine, allowing attackers to execute server-side code that can expose sensitive information, such as database credentials and authentication keys. This vulnerability arises because the filter intended to sanitize the input does not adequately preprocess template delimiters before decoding, enabling potential unauthorized access to critical site configurations.
Affected Version(s)
Smart Popup by Supsystic 0 < 2.0.2
Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
