What is CVE-2026-115241?

The WPvivid Backup, Migration & Staging plugin for WordPress versions prior to 0.9.137 features a critical flaw that allows authenticated administrators to bypass safeguards related to snapshot identifiers. Specifically, the plugin fails to verify that the submitted snapshot identifier corresponds to a legitimate snapshot created by it. Exploiting this vulnerability enables an attacker to input arbitrary strings as table-name prefixes. This manipulation can result in the deletion of all tables matching that prefix, critically compromising the site's database, including essential WordPress core tables, leading to a complete loss of data.

Affected Version(s)

WPvivid β€” Backup, Migration & Staging 0 < 0.9.137

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
