What is CVE-2026-11565?

The Advanced File Manager plugin for WordPress, before version 5.4.13, contains a significant security issue due to insufficient capability checks in its file management AJAX actions. This deficiency permits users with any role that has been granted file-manager access—potentially even those with minimal privileges, such as subscribers—to gain unauthorized access to sensitive server files. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to read arbitrary files, including critical configuration files, and overwrite non-PHP files, which poses a security risk that could lead to compromising admin accounts and the entire site.

Affected Version(s)

Advanced File Manager 0 < 5.4.13

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
