What is CVE-2026-116535?

The SEOPress - AI SEO Plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping for the 'display_name' parameter. This vulnerability allows authenticated users, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject malicious scripts into web pages. By manipulating their display name to include the '%%archive_title%%' token accompanied by HTML event-handler payloads, attackers can execute arbitrary scripts when other users visit affected pages, as the plugin fails to properly filter HTML content.
