Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Image Optimization Plugin for WordPress
CVE-2026-119070

7.2HIGH

What is CVE-2026-119070?

The Optimole plugin for WordPress is susceptible to stored cross-site scripting through the 'comment' parameter. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing attackers to inject malicious web scripts in the comments section. When enabled, this plugin's default configuration can lead to execution of the injected scripts whenever a user accesses the affected page. The exploit bypasses standard WordPress comment sanitization filters since the malicious payload doesn't include HTML metacharacters upon storage, only being rendered by Optimole's decoder at the time of page access.

Affected Version(s)
