What is CVE-2026-120677?
The Optimole plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) through the 'comment' parameter. This vulnerability is attributed to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing potential attackers to execute malicious scripts within web pages. For successful exploitation, the malicious comment must receive approval from an administrator, and the page must contain at least one iframe or video element. This issue affects all plugin versions up to and including 4.2.18, and exploitation is particularly feasible when default settings for video lazy loading are utilized.
