What is CVE-2026-1306?

The midi-Synth plugin for WordPress allows unauthenticated attackers to exploit a vulnerability that permits arbitrary file uploads. This occurs due to inadequate validation of file types and extensions within the 'export' AJAX action in versions up to and including 1.1.0. The lack of security checks makes it feasible for attackers to upload malicious files to a site's server, potentially enabling remote code execution if they can procure a valid nonce. Alarmingly, this nonce is available in frontend JavaScript, making it easily accessible to attackers without authentication.

Affected Version(s)

midi-Synth 0 <= 1.1.0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
