The WP Crowdfunding plugin for WordPress versions prior to 2.2.1 has a security flaw that allows any authenticated user, including those with Subscriber roles, to modify the update history of campaigns they do not own. This vulnerability also permits the unauthorized sending of notification emails to backers, which can lead to misinformation and potential exploitation. This situation arises from the plugin's failure to adequately verify the ownership of the campaigns, compromising the integrity of user-generated content.
