What is CVE-2026-14995?

The Autoptimize plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to exploit stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the REQUEST_URI path. This flaw arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in versions up to and including 3.1.15.1. The vulnerability can be triggered if the Critical CSS feature is enabled with a valid API key. When exploited, malicious scripts can be injected into pages, executing whenever a user accesses the compromised page, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or data exposure.
