What is CVE-2026-15169?

A vulnerability in the UMTS FP protocol dissector of Wireshark allows an attacker to induce a crash in the application, leading to a denial of service. This issue is present in Wireshark versions 4.6.0 through 4.6.6 and 4.4.0 through 4.4.16. Attackers exploiting this vulnerability can cause the application to become unresponsive, negatively impacting network analysis activities. It is recommended to update to the latest version of Wireshark to mitigate this risk.
