What is CVE-2026-15730?
The GamiPress plugin for WordPress, which is used to manage gamification features like points and badges, has a vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to exploit stored cross-site scripting (XSS). This occurs through the 'heading_size' shortcode attribute due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. When a page containing the manipulated shortcode is accessed by a user, the injected malicious scripts can execute, compromising the security of the website. Notably, the wp_kses_post filter fails to neutralize the dangerous payload at the time of saving, allowing harmful HTML to be generated at runtime when the shortcode handler processes it.
