What is CVE-2026-1608?
The Video Onclick plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping processes on user-supplied attributes found within the youtube shortcode. Authenticated users with contributor-level access and above can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the compromised page, posing a significant risk to user security and data integrity.
