What is CVE-2026-16269?
The Newsletters plugin for WordPress is susceptible to an API authentication bypass due to inadequate type comparison of its API authentication key. This flaw enables unauthenticated attackers to exploit the plugin, particularly when the optional API feature is enabled. By leveraging type juggling techniques, malicious actors can perform unauthorized actions, such as modifying subscriber information and sending emails, thereby compromising the integrity and security of the affected site.
