The Peter's Date Countdown plugin for WordPress exposes a critical vulnerability due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. Attackers can exploit the $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] parameter to inject malicious scripts that execute on the client's browser when they interact with compromised pages. This susceptibility allows unauthenticated users to deceive victims into clicking on crafted links, potentially leading to unauthorized actions and data exposure.
