Stored Cross-Site Scripting in WaveSurfer-WP Plugin for WordPress
CVE-2026-1909
6.4MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-1909?
The WaveSurfer-WP plugin for WordPress has a vulnerability that allows authenticated users with Contributor-level access and above to exploit Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's audio shortcode. This happens due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on the 'src' attribute, which enables attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts. When a user accesses an affected page, these scripts can execute, potentially compromising their session and exposing sensitive data.
