What is CVE-2026-1928?

The Rank Math SEO plugin for WordPress is susceptible to PHP Object Injection due to improper handling of untrusted input in the updateMeta REST API endpoint. This vulnerability allows authenticated users with Contributor-level access and higher to potentially inject a malicious PHP Object. Furthermore, the existence of a property-oriented programming (POP) chain increases the risk by enabling attackers to execute remote code, which can lead to the installation of a webshell in the uploads directory, thereby compromising the security of affected WordPress installations.
