What is CVE-2026-20506?

A vulnerability exists in MediaTek's Audio HAL that could allow a malicious actor to escalate privileges locally. This issue arises due to a use after free condition, granting attackers the ability to exploit the system without requiring user interaction. If an attacker has already gained system-level privileges, they can leverage this vulnerability to gain higher access. A patch has been issued to address this issue.
