What is CVE-2026-20779?

Versions of Gitea from 1.5.0 up to 1.26.3 are affected by a vulnerability that permits a valid Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) to be reused, undermining the integrity of two-factor authentication mechanisms. This flaw enables an attacker to exploit the Basic Auth X-Gitea-OTP path by reusing a TOTP code, potentially leading to unauthorized access and a breach of secure transactions.
