What is CVE-2026-2257?

The GetGenie plugin for WordPress is susceptible to an Insecure Direct Object Reference due to inadequate input validation within the action function. This flaw allows authenticated users with Author-level permissions or higher to manipulate post metadata across arbitrary posts. Furthermore, this vulnerability, compounded by insufficient input sanitization, can lead to Stored Cross-Site Scripting, particularly affecting higher-privileged users such as Administrators when they access the 'Competitor' tab within the GetGenie sidebar of compromised posts.
