What is CVE-2026-2352?

The Autoptimize plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to inadequate input sanitization within the 'ao_post_preload' meta value. This vulnerability affects all versions of the plugin up to and including 3.1.14. Authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above can exploit this flaw to insert malicious web scripts into pages, which will execute when those pages are accessed. This issue arises from a failure to properly escape the output when rendering the injected values into a '' tag within the autoptimizeImages.php file. Users with the 'Image optimization' or 'Lazy-load images' settings enabled are particularly at risk.

Affected Version(s)

Autoptimize 0 <= 3.1.14
