What is CVE-2026-23982?

An Improper Authorization vulnerability in Apache Superset allows users with limited privileges to evade established data access restrictions. This occurs during dataset creation, where permission checks are intended to safeguard against unauthorized data queries. However, an authenticated attacker, equipped with permissions to both write datasets and read charts, can manipulate the SQL query of an existing dataset, ultimately bypassing these essential checks. Users are advised to upgrade to version 6.0.0 to mitigate this issue.
