What is CVE-2026-23985?

A vulnerability in the SQL parsing component of Apache Superset allows authenticated attackers to exploit overlapping disjunctions in a regex. This can lead to Denial of Service (DoS) when a malicious input string, consisting of a long series of backslashes or similar characters, is processed. The issue is present in versions 1.5.0 through 5.0.0. It is advised to upgrade to version 6.0.0 for a resolution. Additionally, implementing Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules and strict rate limiting on specific endpoints can act as effective mitigations against this vulnerability.
