What is CVE-2026-2498?
The WP Social Meta plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the admin settings. This vulnerability impacts all versions up to and including 1.0.1, allowing authenticated users with administrator-level access to inject malicious scripts. These scripts can execute when a user visits the affected pages, particularly in multi-site installations or where unfiltered_html has been disabled, thereby posing a significant security risk.
