What is CVE-2026-2687?
The Reading Progressbar plugin for WordPress prior to version 1.3.1 is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. This vulnerability arises because the plugin fails to adequately sanitize and escape certain settings. As a result, even users with high privilege access, such as administrators, can exploit this flaw to execute malicious scripts within the application. This issue may pose a significant risk especially in multisite configurations where unfiltered HTML capabilities are usually restricted.
