Authorization Bypass Vulnerability in Kadence Blocks by WordPress
CVE-2026-2826

4.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-2826?

The Kadence Blocks plugin, utilized in the Gutenberg editor for WordPress, suffers from an authorization bypass vulnerability in all versions up to and including 3.6.3. This issue is rooted in the plugin's failure to adequately validate whether a user possesses the upload_files capability within the process_pattern REST API endpoint. Consequently, authenticated attackers, including those with contributor-level access, are able to upload images to the WordPress Media Library merely by providing remote image URLs. This security flaw underscores the need for proper access controls in plugins that interact with media handling.
