CVE-2026-28557

What is CVE-2026-28557?

A missing capability check in wpForo Forum version 2.4.14 allows authenticated users to exploit the wpforo_synch_roles AJAX handler. By accessing the usergroups admin page, which is open to any authenticated user, attackers can retrieve a nonce and subsequently remap all wpForo usergroups to any WordPress role. This significant flaw poses a risk to user permissions and could lead to unauthorized access and privilege escalation within WordPress sites.
