What is CVE-2026-2991?

The KiviCare – Clinic & Patient Management System for WordPress has a critical vulnerability that allows attackers to bypass authentication checks. The flaw exists in the patientSocialLogin() function, which does not properly verify the access token provided by social providers. As a result, an unauthenticated user can log in as any patient by simply supplying their email address along with any arbitrary value as the access token. This exposes sensitive medical records, appointments, prescriptions, and personal billing information to unauthorized individuals. Furthermore, the authentication cookies are prematurely set, potentially allowing access even to non-patient users despite receiving a 403 response, which further complicates the security landscape of the system.

Affected Version(s)

KiviCare – Clinic & Patient Management System (EHR) 0 <= 4.1.2

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
