What is CVE-2026-3090?
The Post SMTP plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability through the 'event_type' parameter. This weakness arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in versions up to and including 3.8.0. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this flaw, injecting malicious scripts that execute when users access compromised pages. This vulnerability becomes particularly critical when the Post SMTP Pro plugin is installed and its Reporting and Tracking extension is active, facilitating the execution of harmful scripts.
