Unauthorized Data Access in Complianz GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent Plugin for WordPress
CVE-2026-4019

5.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-4019?

The Complianz – GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent plugin for WordPress has a serious security flaw that allows unauthorized access to sensitive data. This vulnerability, present in all versions up to 7.4.5, arises from the REST API endpoint /wp-json/complianz/v1/consent-area/{post_id}/{block_id}, which incorrectly permits unauthenticated users to access information without proper checks. The cmplz_rest_consented_content() function retrieves consent-area block content from posts without verifying the publication status or user permissions, exposing private, draft, or unpublished post content to malicious actors.

Affected Version(s)

Complianz – GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent 0 <= 7.4.5
