What is CVE-2026-4085?

The Easy Social Photos Gallery plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows for stored cross-site scripting (XSS) through the 'wrapper_class' shortcode attribute of the 'my-instagram-feed' shortcode. This issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, utilizing sanitize_text_field() instead of the more secure esc_attr() when rendering the 'wrapper_class' attribute. Consequently, the lack of proper encoding enables authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary HTML event handlers. Any web scripts introduced via this method will execute whenever a user accesses a page containing the injected content, posing a significant threat to website security.
