What is CVE-2026-50112?

The vulnerability allows an authenticated tenant in Apache CloudStack to exploit a server-side request forgery (SSRF) flaw by registering a template with a malicious metalink file that points to internal targets. This enables the Secondary Storage VM to retrieve unauthorized data, leading to the possibility of executing arbitrary shell commands as root on the KVM hypervisor host. The issue arises when a VM template is registered with the 'directDownload' option set to true, allowing the management server to process unvalidated metalink XML inner URLs. This scenario presents critical cross-tenant vulnerabilities impacting the overall security of users sharing the underlying compute resources.

Affected Version(s)

Apache CloudStack 4.14.0.0 <= 4.20.3.0

Apache CloudStack 4.21.0.0 <= 4.22.1.0
