What is CVE-2026-58439?

A vulnerability exists in Gitea where the branch protection mechanism can be bypassed through PR retargeting, allowing users to preserve stale official approval flags. This can undermine the integrity and security of repositories by permitting unauthorized alterations to be merged, even when proper review protocols are established.
